A Denture Should Fit Your Mouth, Not Just Fill It
Dr. Edward Shamieh, DDS approaches dentures and partials as prosthetic treatment designed around function, stability and the needs of each patient. Fourteen years in practice, now focused on implant surgery and prosthetic treatment, he evaluates the factors that influence how a denture is planned, designed and supported. Mission: Dental Implants makes a deliberate effort to keep tooth replacement treatment attainable while planning care around each patient’s needs.

Dr. Edward Shamieh, DDS
Fourteen years in practice, now focused on implant surgery, prosthetics, complex extractions and selected sedation cases.
Mission: Dental Implants focuses on the surgical and prosthetic treatment of missing and failing teeth. Extraction treatment is planned with the next step in mind, whether that means healing without replacement, a denture, an implant or another appropriate restorative option.
The Denture Is The Easy Part. The Foundation Is Not.
A well made denture is not difficult to fabricate. What makes tooth replacement succeed or fail is everything decided before the impression is taken. Which teeth come out and in what order. Whether the ridge is preserved or allowed to collapse. Whether the bite is rebuilt at the correct height. Get those right and the prosthetic follows naturally.
Dr. Shamieh spent fourteen years across military, academic, private and large group dentistry before narrowing his practice to this work. Patients arrive having been told a denture is simply what happens next. Often it is the right answer. Sometimes a partial preserves more, or a few implants change the outcome entirely. The point of the consultation is to find out which one applies to you before anything is fabricated.
Denture and Partial Treatment Process
Every denture case is planned around the teeth that remain, the shape of the ridge and how you use your bite. Treatment generally moves through the following stages.
Consult and Imaging
We examine the remaining teeth and supporting tissue and take digital scans and imaging. We discuss whether a full denture, a partial or a prosthetic supported by implants is the appropriate direction, and what each option requires of you.
Design and Try In
Impressions and digital records are used to build the prosthetic. You see and approve the shape, shade and bite at a try in appointment before anything is finalized. Adjustments made at this stage cost you nothing but time.
Delivery Day
The finished denture or partial is fitted and balanced against your bite. If extractions are part of the plan, an immediate denture can be delivered the same day the teeth are removed so you are not without teeth.
Ongoing Dental Care
Gums and bone change shape for months after teeth are removed, so early adjustments are expected and included. Patients referred by another dentist return to that practice for routine and preventive care. If you do not already have a dentist, we can help you locate one in your preferred area.
Dentures That Lock Onto Implants
Implant-supported dentures use dental implants to provide additional stability compared with traditional removable dentures. The implants are planned around the final prosthetic design so the surgical and restorative portions of treatment work together. Mission: Dental Implants provides both implant placement and prosthetic treatment when appropriate.
