Dr. Edward Shamieh, DDS
Fourteen years in practice, now focused on implant surgery, prosthetics, complex extractions and selected sedation cases.

Training And Background
Columbia University
Doctor of Dental Surgery, College of Dental Medicine, 2012.
United States Air Force
Active-duty dentist at Whiteman Air Force Base, Missouri, from 2012 to 2016.
UMKC School of Dentistry
Assistant Professor, 2017–2018.
Coordinated Care
Coordinates surgical and prosthetic treatment with referring dentists when applicable.
Mission: Dental Implants is an enrolled provider with Kansas Medicaid through KanCare/KMAP and Missouri Medicaid through MO HealthNet. Coverage depends on eligibility, the patient’s plan and covered services. Our office verifies applicable benefits before treatment is scheduled.
A Practice That Got Narrower On Purpose
After fourteen years in practice across military, academic, private and large-group dentistry, his work is now concentrated within one focused scope: implant surgery, prosthetics, complex extractions and selected sedation cases. Mission: Dental Implants was intentionally built as a focused practice. The practice concentrates on the surgical and prosthetic treatment of missing and failing teeth rather than routine general dentistry.
That focus grew out of years of treating people with broken or failing teeth, patients already wearing dentures that did not function the way they wanted, and people facing extensive reconstruction. These cases require coordinated decisions about which teeth can predictably be kept, which need to be removed, how the bone and gum tissue should be managed, and what type of replacement provides the appropriate balance of stability, function, appearance and cost.
California To Columbia To Kansas City
Different clinical and academic environments helped shape the way Dr. Shamieh approaches treatment today.

University of California, Davis
Born in Southern California and raised in the Bay Area, Dr. Shamieh studied neuroanatomy, physiology and behavior, providing a foundation in anatomy, nerve function and biomechanics that continues to inform his approach to surgery and dental function.
Columbia University College of Dental Medicine
He moved to New York City for dental school and earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Columbia University College of Dental Medicine.
United States Air Force
His first position after dental school was as an active-duty dentist caring for service members at Whiteman Air Force Base in Missouri. His work included diagnosis, restorative treatment, emergencies, surgery and comprehensive treatment planning.
Assistant Professor, UMKC School of Dentistry
Dr. Shamieh served on the faculty at the UMKC School of Dentistry from 2017 to 2018. Teaching dental students required breaking clinical reasoning into clear steps: identify the problem, determine what needs attention first, explain the available options and develop a treatment plan. That same approach continues to shape how he discusses treatment with patients today.
Treating The Whole Situation, Not Just The Tooth
Private practice added another part of treatment planning: understanding how much treatment a patient can realistically undergo, what their priorities are and what they can genuinely afford.
Repetition at volume
Working within larger dental organizations made surgical extractions, immediate dentures, alveoloplasty, removable prosthetics and implant reconstruction a regular part of clinical practice. That experience ultimately led to a narrower focus on implant, surgical and prosthetic treatment.
Even Excellent Treatment Has Limited Value If The Patient Cannot Realistically Obtain It.
The lesson that shaped Mission: Dental Implants.

Good Implant Work That People Can Actually Afford
Years of treating people with extensive tooth loss made one thing clear: cost is often one of the largest obstacles between a patient and treatment that could meaningfully improve function and appearance.
Mission: Dental Implants makes a deliberate effort to control the cost of providing treatment and reflect that in what patients are quoted. The goal is not to recommend the largest treatment plan available. It is to develop a predictable solution that fits the condition, the patient’s priorities and the budget being considered.
Restore function. Restore a smile. Make implant treatment attainable.
Our Mission
Mission: Dental Implants focuses on rebuilding smiles and replacing missing or failing teeth through implant surgery, extractions, bone grafting, dentures and prosthetic treatment. Patients receive a clear treatment plan and understand the expected cost before deciding how to proceed.
Our Vision
Make implant and tooth-replacement treatment easier to understand, more accessible and deliberately affordable.
Where His Work Is Concentrated Now
Surgery and prosthetics are planned together around the result the patient is trying to reach rather than as isolated procedures.
Dental Implants
Dental implants can replace a single missing tooth, support a bridge or stabilize a removable denture. Treatment is planned around function, cleanability and the amount of support needed.
Surgical Extractions
Treatment includes broken or failing teeth, difficult roots and other cases that require more than a routine removal. Sedation and comfort options can be discussed in advance so the appropriate plan is in place before treatment.
Dentures and Prosthetics
Treatment includes immediate and replacement dentures, partial dentures and implant-stabilized removable prosthetics. When an immediate denture is planned, it is made in advance and can be delivered on the day the teeth are removed.
Digital Planning
Digital scanning and digitally planned prosthetic treatment are used when appropriate to coordinate the surgical and prosthetic portions of care.
Your Patient Stays Your Patient
When a general dentist refers a patient for the surgical, implant or prosthetic portion of treatment, Mission: Dental Implants focuses on that part of the case.
The referring practice is kept informed throughout treatment, and the patient returns to their dentist for ongoing preventive and general dental care. Patients who do not already have a general dentist can ask us for help locating one in their preferred area.

How Treatment Works
Digital scanning and careful treatment planning allow the surgical and prosthetic parts of treatment to be coordinated when appropriate. Every case is different, but here is what treatment may look like.
Consult and Imaging
We examine the area and obtain the imaging needed for your case. We explain the treatment options, expected sequence and cost before you decide how to proceed.
Treatment Planning
The surgical and prosthetic portions of treatment are planned together when appropriate, including extractions, grafting, implants, dentures or other prosthetic treatment.
Surgery and Prosthetic Treatment
Treatment proceeds according to the plan developed for your case. When an immediate denture is part of that plan, the denture is designed and fabricated in advance so it can be delivered on the day the teeth are removed.
Follow-Up and Coordination
Follow-up is based on the treatment performed and the needs of the individual case. For referred patients, Mission: Dental Implants coordinates the surgical and prosthetic portion of treatment with the referring dentist and returns the patient for ongoing general and preventive care.
Bring Us The Situation You Have
At your consultation, we evaluate the situation, obtain the imaging or digital records needed for your case and develop a treatment plan. Before deciding how to proceed, you will have an explanation of the recommended treatment, the expected sequence and the cost.
